About this role
About the role
Triade is a data and analytics consultancy working across the United States, Brazil and Mexico. We are looking for a Delivery Manager, based in Brazil, who can run several engineering projects at once, keep them honest, and hold the line with clients when a plan needs defending.
This is a delivery role, not an engineering role. You will not be writing Terraform or tuning queries. You will be the person who knows what the engineers are talking about, can translate it for a client director, can tell when an estimate is optimistic, and can say so.
Where you are and how you are engaged. This position is for professionals based in Brazil. You will be contracted through Triade LLC, our United States entity, as an independent contractor invoicing through your own company (PJ), and paid in US dollars — the same arrangement as the rest of our Brazilian delivery team. The clients and the working language are international.
What you will do
- Run the portfolio. Carry four to seven concurrent projects — scope, plan, schedule, budget and risk on each, with a weekly cycle you own rather than one that happens to you.
- Run the agile cycle. Sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives that produce decisions, not ceremony. Keep backlogs real and keep teams unblocked.
- Own the client conversation. Weekly status, change control, escalation and the uncomfortable conversations: a slipped date, a scope creep, a dependency the client owes and has not delivered.
- Hold the commercial line. Track hours against budget and purchase orders, flag overruns before they happen, and prepare change requests with the numbers behind them.
- Keep delivery honest. Make sure status reports reflect reality, that risks are written down before they become issues, and that nobody discovers a problem at the end of a sprint.
- Work with the practice leads. Architects and engineers own the technical decisions; you own whether the work lands on time, inside budget and to the standard agreed.
What you need
- Based in Brazil, able to work with substantial overlap to United States business hours.
- Proven delivery management on software or data engineering programmes, running multiple projects simultaneously for external clients.
- Scrum and agile in practice, not just certification — you have run the cycle, not only attended it.
- Technical literacy across the modern data and platform stack. You do not need to build it, but you must be able to hold a credible conversation about it and know when an answer does not add up: Kubernetes and containers, CI/CD and DevOps practice, data engineering and pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and data platform or lakehouse concepts.
- Resilience with stakeholders. This role meets pushback — from clients, from partners and sometimes from your own team. We need someone who can absorb it, stay professional, and still get to a decision. If a difficult client conversation is something you avoid, this is not the right role.
- Budget and scope discipline — time and materials with caps, change orders, purchase orders and the arithmetic that goes with them.
- English at a working professional level. You will run client meetings, write weekly status and handle escalations in English. Portuguese is your working language internally; English is the client's.
Nice to have
- Experience on a regulated client, financial services in particular.
- Exposure to Starburst, Trino, Apache Iceberg, Databricks, Snowflake or similar data platforms.
- Experience managing distributed teams across several time zones.
- PMP, PSM, CSM or equivalent.
- Spanish in addition to Portuguese and English.
How we work
- Fully remote from Brazil, with overlap with United States business hours.
- Weekly status per project: delivered, planned, hours consumed, risks open.
- Written status over verbal — a decision that is not written down did not happen.
- You will work alongside data architects, platform engineers and BI leads, and with partner delivery teams.
